Dear Friends,
Memorial Day is a time to honor the many servicemen and women who gave their lives safeguarding our nation, as well as to thank and show appreciation for our injured soldiers who are still healing and transitioning back into every day life.
As we commemorate their noble service to our country, we cannot let such selfless bravery in action go in vain. Let’s do all we can to ensure that our veterans have the resources and opportunities needed to thrive here at home, and to support themselves and their families.
We must also not forget that the struggle to protect human rights continues across the U.S. — including right here in the 13th C.D. For these reasons it is critical that we all participate in the democratic process and urge our family, friends and neighbors to do the same.
Are you registered to vote? If not click here to learn how to before next Friday’s (June 1st) registration deadline. Exercising your vote is the most powerful way to demonstrate appreciation for the ultimate price our servicemen and women paid so that we may live free.
On behalf of my team, I wish you all a safe and happy holiday weekend.
Thank you,
Joyce Johnson
